The Calgary Flames are expected to sign Forward Kris Versteeg to a 1-year contract, according to reports. Versteeg's deal is expected to be worth $1MM.
Versteeg initially was trying to play overseas in the Swiss league earlier in the offseason, however a deal with one of the teams fell apart due to issues with Versteeg's medical records.
He returned to free agency, where the Edmonton Oilers expressed interest in him, to which the two sides were close to a deal. However, Versteeg has changed course in the end and will now end up a Calgary Flame.
